What is one to think?

A couple of days ago the kids and I were sitting at the table eating lunch together when Mark very seriously says, "Mom, if one of our parents had to die or we just had to choose which one to live with I would choose Dad because he makes all the money." He looked very pensive and like he had given this a lot of thought. The other kids listened and then put in their own opinion which sadly most agreed with Mark. Mark then added that it would be okay because when it was his turn to cook he can make some things for dinner. What is a mother to think about that. I guess I am nothing more than a cook to my nine and a half year old son at the moment. I just chalked it up to an interesting observation and boys really do not have a clue so much of the time. I sure do love him but WOW!

They say that men do not mature past the age of 11. I sure can believe it. What a kick in the teeth! Take comfort in knowing that when they are on a mission and married they will appreciate you a whole lot more. Not nearly as much as you deserve, but far more than now. After being with my daughter and everything she has gone through I am truly appalled at how little praise and veneration women get. They should worship and kiss the ground we walk on!

My brother asked my mother... in all seriousness... "Mom, who is fatter, you or Jabba the hutt?"
Kids are great... I think that you need a vacation. Or rather your children need you to take a vacation so that they appreciate all that you do!

addie told me yesterday that she wants her birth mom to be her mom because she's not mean to her. that was a slap in the face! i guess we can take comfort in knowing that they really have no clue as to what all that includes...i guess.
